Power of prayer!

10/30 update

YOU and your continued prayers are why I’m sitting here today recovering from a successful surgery starring at the San Francisco fog. The power of prayer is real people! Thank you lord! 🙏

About 15 months ago, I was told I had stage 4 leiomyosarcoma cancer. No one ever forgets the day they are given less than 2 years to live. We fought those statistics! My body has went through a lot this past year both physically and mentally. My family is tired. Our long term dreams have changed. Savings has dwindled. My faith got stronger. My heart broken yet fuller. My village of family and friends blossomed. Throughout the past 15 months, I’ve had around 50 chemo/trial drug infusions, a couple ER visits, ridiculous amounts of nasty drugs, pills, and supplements, countless needle pokes and blood draws, and 4 procedures requiring anesthesia. But guess what….

We did it! Today I hope to be discharged from Stanford and start my long road of recovery NED (no evidence of disease). Since this type of cancer is incurable, you don’t technically go into remission but it’s kinda the same thing. I really didn’t know if this day would ever come but I never lost hope or faith. I really didn’t. I believed in my magic and have so much to live for. My time is not now! I will continue to fight and improve my health to stay NED, or if the time comes, fight again.

Stanford has been truly exceptional! So exceptional! If you or someone you know is struggling with a medical diagnosis and not getting the treatment or care they deserve, I urge you to seek other opinions. I’ve had treatment in 4 states. You have to advocate for yourself in today’s medical world. If you can’t, find someone who can for you. It’s not easy but may save your life.

Thank you everyone for all the well wishes and love we receive on a daily basis.

Thank you to my guardian angel for being right there with me this week. Love you mom.

God is great! Happy Sunday!

I am thinking of you today too as my cancer may have returned with a vengeance. I had breast cancer in 2020 and had surgery for it. In October, I had a mammogram and ultrasound, and all they saw was a cyst, no big deal. However, in December I had stabbing pain in my right side. I thought it might be my gall bladder, but more ultrasounds in January showed lesions in my liver. The blood tests indicate cancer might be there and/or in my bone marrow. I undergo a CT scan on Feb 13, my daughter's birthday. Depending on the results, I may have biopsies. Please keep me in your prayers as I pray for your continued recovery!😍
